Academic Conference on Social Responsibility

"Connecting Across the Disciplines"
The Center for Leadership and Social Responsibility at the Milgard School of Business, University of Washington Tacoma is pleased to announce its first academic research conference. The conference aims to facilitate high quality, rigorous scholarship on a wide range of social responsibility issues.
Scholars from multiple disciplines including accounting, finance, management and marketing are invited to share their research perspectives and results. The conference will showcase the most current research within the disciplines and allow participants to identify points of intersection across disciplines.
The conference will feature research presentations from participants, keynote presentations by leading scholars, and a panel discussion with journal editors.

Conference Schedule
The two day conference will start at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 15th and conclude by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16th. See preliminary schedule here.
Registration
The registration fee is $125 and includes conference materials, Thursday dinner, Friday breakfast and lunch, as well as web access to full text of all papers presented. The fee does not include lodging or transportation. The registration page and payment processing information will be available by early December.
A conference rate of $159.00 USD per night is available through the Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown. The conference rate will be available up to three days before and three days following the conference. To secure the discounted rate of $159.00, reservations must be made before June 22, 2010. After the cut-off date, the hotel may continue to accept reservations on a space available basis at the best available rate. Doctoral Students
We welcome current and prospective scholars, including Doctoral students in this area of research. The Center will provide financial support covering registration fee's and accommodations (double occupancy) for up to ten Ph.D. students. Check back in late November for more information on this process.
Call for Papers
Research papers are now being accepted for this conference. Theoretical and empirical papers are welcomed on a wide range of topics related to social practices of businesses. The deadline for paper submissions is January 31, 2010. For more information, see the Call for Papers webpage.
